Adam Johnson – The Prodigal Son?

Reports today are suggesting Steve Bruce wants to bring Adam Johnson to Sunderland.
The exciting winger is being chased by several Premiership clubs (including Chelsea) but apparently Sunderland are leading the chase to win his signature. Johnson, originally from Sunderland, has had a good season so far (albeit in the Championship league) scoring 8 goals in 16 games and pitching in with 3 assists.
It is thought that Sunderland want Johnson to sign as early as January. His contract runs out in the summer but he has rejected numerous offers from Middlesbrough. Our squad has looked rather thin at times this season, even more so in recent weeks.
Johnson would no doubt be a good addition for the club. He would however have a huge task ahead of him to oust Andy Reid from the Sunderland team. Reid has had a tremendous season so far and has probably been the most improved player since Bruce took charge.
