boy wonder
ByInitially I had doubts he could actually be as effective in the middle as he is on the right. (see his skill and vision to set up Gyans goal down Wigan) but Bruce obviously sees him as a middle of the park player, hence the loan signing of Elmo (Elmo, its down the wing he’ll go……). It will be interesting to see how he develops in this role.
Either way it’s great to see a Sunderland lad pulling on the red and white stripes and not only holding his own, but excelling against sides such as Manchester Utd. Being a Sunderland supporter it comes natural to fear that should he continue to shine that we could have a battle on our hands to keep hold of his services. I think he has a little way to go yet, but should he add goals to his game I think we will be tested at some stage.
Thoughts on the lad?

Jordan is proving to be a wonderful lad. Feet on the ground and excellent ball skils.
As you say his part in Gyan’s Wigan goal was fantastic – I have that section on video and watch it over and over. I hope I can get a clip of Jordan’s goal for England.
We have a wonderful young side – Bad rumours abound about Big Teams interest in both Jordan and more recently Elmo. I think Jordan would choose to stay and continue regular first team football. Elmo on the other hand we need to sign.
As you say once the goals start going in the Arsenals of this world will want him. And he will then get his full England place. I remember Macdonald at the ‘other’ place never making into the England squad until his career was at an end and playing for Arsenal. Odd that Wilshire is getting picked over Jordan. Same stupidity from the England selectors, different North Eastern team. If Darren Bent had scored as many goals for Arsenal as he did for us last season FOR SURE he would have been in the World Cup squad.

good post Rob, and interesting point you raise regarding wilshire. I suppose as it stands we should be happy we have players who are attracting attention. It shows progress at the very least.
