Darren Bent Raring To Go Against Spurs

Darren Bent, has admitted that leaving Spurs was the right decision and he is happy to be away from the club.

It was apparent that Bent was surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane and it was in the best interests for both Spurs and Bent that he found a new club. Thankfully he chose Sunderland! He´s been a revelation since signing and is probably the only player ever to have a chant dedicated to him before having even kicked a ball (that´s how good he is!).

Bent explained that he had to get out of White Hart Lane in order to salvage his confidence and save his England career.

He said: “It was horrible at Tottenham – people doubted me and my confidence took a battering. When you are not playing you’re never going to make an impression.”

Fortunately for Bent and Sunderland he´s now a first team regular and so far has repaid Steve Bruceby scoring a bagful of goals.

Let´s hope he continues his great scoring form against Spurs today.
