Fair comments on the most part but John seems to have a case of sour grapes.

John:

You obviously fail to remember that we drew 0-0 at the Emirates last season and we were a minute away from beating Man Utd at Old Trafford this season.

Goals make the difference and we ultimately created the better opportunities. Van Persie and Bendtner may be a miss for you but you’re forgetting we were missing several BIG players too in Kenwyne Jones, Lee Cattermole, Michael Turner and Craig Gordon.

No complaints you were the physically stronger team and defended well throughout. Without Van Persie and Bendtner Arsenal are very lightweight up front and will struggle.

Hi. Arsenal fan here. I was at the game and think it was a hard fought contest. Congratulations to you, it was a battling display and your fans are great. You deserved your win and never let us settle. We always seem to be jaded travelling immediately after international breaks and I suspected we would be hard pushed to get a point and so it proved. Good luck for the rest of the season.

A fantastic result for Sunderland, but don’t get ahead of yourselves. Basically, a fairer result would have been a draw. A win means you were lucky. You were only able to win this game because of a combination of factors. Firstly, injuries to Van Persie, Diaby and Bendtner, all players who would have been more decisive in this kind a match. Secondly, having the good fortune to play arsenal just after the international break. This means that you would have all week to prepare your team for a negative game plan against a team returning with fatigue, and benched, in the cases of Arshavin, from their international fixtures. Thirdly, some good fortune for the goal. Which you got through a lucky ricochet for the goal. All in all, it sounds like you were due some luck, but don’t get cocky, because you will be picking the ball out of the net, repeatedly, when you come to the emirates. Fourthly, for Arsenal themselves to be unlucky in front of goal because of players hardly match fit and match sharp having not played many games this season up front, which is what happened in the case of Rosicky, Eduardo and Nasri. All in all there were 12 chances to Sunderland’s 7, and arsenal had 67% possession. So what do you conclude – Sunderland were very lucky. No need to give any credit, because none is due.

After some of my fellow Arsenal fans were amazingly blinkered when it came to Henry’s cheating antics during the week you hardly expect this to be any different.
