Sunderland To Sign Robbie Keane?

The rumours linking Sunderland with Robbie Keane have been in circulation since Peter Reid was at the helm. We’ve been linked with Keane every season for about 10 years now but this time the rumours appear to have a hint of truth.

Robbie Keane has fallen out of favour at Spurs, with Defoe and Crouch both in fantastic form. Reports from the Daily mail suggest Robbie Keane will sign for Sunderland for around £10m before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

I’d like to think it’s true but I won’t be holding my breath and I’m unsure if it would be the right decision if it meant Kenwyne Jones would then be allowed to leave. Bent, Jones, Keane and Campbell would offer us true Premier League quality going forward. Let’s hope Bruce further strengthens our defence and midfield in the process!
